Mosfet

EDU15

A power switch for an LED strip or a motor. With PWM you set the power from 0 to 100 %.

Specifications

  • Switches the load with a MOSFET transistor
  • Power controlled by PWM, 0–100 %
  • You can stack another module on top of it
  • Controlled from a 3.3 V pin, the load has its own V+ supply
  • The module itself draws ≈ 0.3 mA (10k pull-down), the load current comes from its own V+ supply, not from the pin
  • Does not use the I2C bus
  • Uses: LED strips, motors, fans

Pins

A jumper on the module switches the pin to IO6, IO7 or IO8, so you can stack several identical modules.

Pin Function
IO5 Power control (IN1, PWM)

Example code

Try the example Breathing light right in your browser in Eduingo AI Lab. The LED strip on the power switch slowly gets brighter and dimmer again, like a sleeping person breathing. The brightness variable rises in 5 % steps up to 100 % and then falls back to zero. Two loops of twenty steps each make the breath in and the breath out. Try slowing the breathing down or making the pause between breaths longer.
